Claude just added Uber, Spotify and 13 more daily apps and the gap between it and Gemini just got a lot smaller

Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude has just thrown down the gauntlet with Gemini by plugging directly into Uber, Spotify, and 13 more apps people use every day.
In one of its biggest updates yet, the chatbot can now connect to popular services, transforming it from a simple conversational chatbot into something far more practical.
The move puts it in much closer competition with rivals like Gemini and ChatGPT, both of which have been racing to build similar ecosystems.
And with 15 new ‘connectors’ now installed, it’s clear the AI wars are going to be won by who is the most useful.
What are Claude ‘connectors’
The new app ‘connectors’ essentially let the AI tech Claude ‘talk’ directly to third-party apps, meaning it can actually help you get things done instead of just suggesting ideas.
Anthropic has added integrations for a wide mix of everyday services, including Uber, Instacart, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, and even TurboTax.
That means you can ask Claude to plan a night out, book a ride, suggest a restaurant, or even help estimate your taxes, all within a single chat.

It can also recommend music or podcasts tailored to your taste through Spotify integration, pulling from your listening history to make suggestions that actually feel personal.
Importantly, Claude doesn’t act without permission.
If a task involves spending money, like booking a ride or ordering food, it will always ask for confirmation first, keeping people in control.

How the gap between Anthropic and Gemini just got a lot smaller
This update isn’t just about convenience, it’s about competition.
AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT have already been building out their own ecosystems of apps and integrations, but Claude is now catching up fast by making the app as useful as possible.
With app connections spanning everything from travel and entertainment to finance and food, Claude is becoming more of a daily assistant than a chatbot.
It can suggest hiking routes, find tickets, or even help organise tasks through various services.
All of these point to a bigger move in the AI space because it is no longer just about who has the smartest model, but who can actually slot into your daily life.
And with this update, Claude has made it clear that it wants to be the one you rely on to get things done.
