Man accidentally spent a year in space and set a new record he never intended

You may have heard the story of astronaut Frank Rubio.

Rubio spent a year on the International Space Station (ISS), setting a world record in the process.

However, what might surprise you is that Rubio was not supposed to set this record.

Rubio was supposed to spend six months in space but the capsule that was supposed to take him back to Earth was damaged by space debris.

This ‘minor’ issue caused a delay of around six months.
