iOS 18 is adding new features to Apple CarPlay

Apple Carplay is getting some new features and they will most likely come with iOS 18.
The WWDC conference has come and gone and Apple showcased some of its new CarPlay features.
In addition to the recent announcements, the company had previously revealed other key features coming to the app later this year.

Apple CarPlay accessibility features
The new update will add new accessibility features for motorists with compatible vehicles with iOS 18.
Apple CarPlay will also add Voice Control, Color Filters, and Sound Recognition.
“With Voice Control, users can navigate CarPlay and control apps with just their voice.
“With Sound Recognition, drivers or passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing can turn on alerts to be notified of car horns and sirens,” according to the release.
Coming with iOS 18, the updated next-generation Apple CarPlay will also add Vehicle, Media, and Climate apps to its library.
Apple has also stated that Color Filters will make the CarPlay interface easier to use.
They are also adding additional visual accessibility features including Bold Text.
Customizable interface
As seen in the WWDC sessions, the next-generation Apple CarPlay will be highly customizable.
The app will also allow automakers to alter the design of the system to match their vehicles.
The company also showed off a number of layouts and design options.
The next-generation CarPlay will also show the charging status of an EV car.
It will also show any available software updates for the vehicle and feature rear-camera integration.
Will Apple CarPlay release with iOS 18?
The company’s website also states that the first vehicles with next-generation CarPlay will arrive in 2024.
However, they have yet to confirm a more specific timeframe.
These features are most likely to be launched with iOS 18.
The iOS 18 update is already shaping up to be the biggest iPhone update with groundbreaking improvements.
It seems that Apple is planning to add a lot more to iOS 18, than just AI.
In the end, these features will make our lives a lot more convenient.
