US man connects a powerful RTX 5090 graphics card to a Mac and gets surprising results

This is something that should never really happen, but a man connected a powerful RTX 5090 graphics card to a Mac, and the result was… surprising.

Two things that normally do not belong together were suddenly working side by side.

For years, Macs and Nvidia graphics cards have been on very frosty terms, so seeing one plugged in and running properly was enough to make anyone stare.

Then something happened that no one was expecting.

He connected a powerful RTX 5090 graphics card to a Mac

One guy decided to do a crazy tech experiment and hook up one of the most powerful graphics cards around, the RTX 5090, to a Mac Mini.

On paper, it sounds ridiculous, but thanks to software from Tiny Corp, the setup became possible.

The company created an open-source driver that lets Macs communicate with external Nvidia and AMD graphics cards, something many people thought would stay off-limits.

After installing the tool, the YouTuber, Alex Ziskind, managed to get the giant graphics card talking to the Mac and running tasks through it in just a few minutes.

For longtime Apple fans, this is especially interesting because Macs have not played nice with Nvidia cards for years.

So watching a huge RTX 5090 working away next to a tiny Mac Mini felt like seeing two exes turn up to dinner and somehow get along.

Naturally, people wanted to know one thing next: was it actually any good?

The surprising results once testing began

This is where the plot twist arrived because you might assume the giant RTX 5090 would completely destroy the Mac in every test, but it turns out not quite.

In some early runs, the Mac’s own built-in graphics held its ground far better than expected, but the RTX 5090 still had its moments, especially when handling bigger AI tasks, where it felt faster and more responsive.

But it was not the total knockout many viewers were expecting, which made the whole thing even more entertaining.

Instead of a boring one-sided victory, it became a proper underdog battle between a tiny mini Apple product and a hulking gaming beast of an RTX 5090 graphics card.

So yes, the results were surprising, but honestly, the biggest shock might just be that someone got them working together in the first place.
