All the new changes coming to Apple's Notes app with iOS 27

Apple’s Notes app is getting a handful of new upgrades when iOS 27 arrives later this year, and it’s making the handy app even more helpful.
While the Notes app isn’t getting a dramatic redesign, Apple has added several features to make note-taking, organization, and sharing much easier.
Some of the updates are small quality-of-life improvements, while others take advantage of the company’s new Siri AI capabilities.
Together, they could make Apple Notes an even stronger alternative to dedicated productivity apps.
Divider lines
One of the most noticeable tech additions coming to Apple Notes is support for divider lines.
The feature is simple, but it solves a long-standing annoyance for users who like to keep lengthy notes organized.
Instead of relying on blank spaces, symbols, or creative formatting tricks, users can now insert a dedicated divider line anywhere in a note to separate sections.
Apple has added the tool directly into the editing menu, making it quick to access.

Section links
Apple is also introducing section links in iOS 27, allowing users to create links that jump directly to a specific part of a note.
This could be particularly useful for large documents, travel itineraries, project plans, or study notes where scrolling through pages of content can become frustrating.
Tapping a section link automatically takes users to the selected area of the note.
Markdown support
Another upgrade will be welcomed by users who frequently work with formatting.
Apple Notes is gaining expanded Markdown support, allowing Markdown-formatted text to be pasted directly into notes and converted automatically.
Users can also copy formatted content from Notes as Markdown for use in other apps.

Apple’s new Siri AI can now create and update Notes for you
The biggest change coming to Apple’s Notes app may be its integration with the company’s new Siri AI: rather than simply creating a blank note, Siri AI can generate content and add it directly into Notes.
Users can ask Siri to organize information, reformat lists, create summaries, or generate new notes based on information gathered during a conversation.
Apple has also demonstrated Siri taking content it generated and instantly saving it to Notes without requiring manual copying and pasting.

In some situations, Siri AI may even suggest saving useful information from conversations directly into Notes.
The feature is part of Apple’s wider push to make Siri more context-aware and capable of helping users manage information across apps.

While none of the additions completely reinvent Apple Notes, the combination of smarter AI tools, better organization features, and improved Markdown support should make the app more useful for everyone when iOS 27 launches later this year.
