Apple may be set to make big changes to Genmoji with iOS 27 so a lot more people use it

Genmoji could be getting one of its biggest upgrades yet as Apple is reportedly preparing new AI features for iOS 27.
The AI-powered feature first launched as part of Apple Intelligence and lets users create completely custom emojis using text prompts.
But despite sounding fun in theory, a lot of iPhone users simply never bothered using it after trying it once.
Now, Apple reportedly wants to change that with a brand-new feature that could make Genmoji impossible to ignore.
Is it possible to get Genmoji to actually work?
When Apple introduced Genmoji to gadgets, it was supposed to be one of the standout Apple Intelligence features.
Users could type descriptions into the emoji keyboard and generate weird and funny emojis instantly; want a cowboy frog eating pizza? Genmoji could make it happen.
The issue was that most people forgot the feature existed because it still required extra effort to use.
According to reports, Apple is now working on a new ‘Suggested Genmoji’ feature that would automatically recommend AI-generated emoji while you type messages.

Instead of manually opening the feature yourself, your iPhone could suggest custom Genmoji based on the words you use most often and even the photos stored in your camera roll.
That means if you constantly send dog pictures, vacation selfies, or memes to your friends, your keyboard might start generating matching custom emoji suggestions automatically.
Which honestly sounds either incredibly convenient or slightly dangerous depending on what is hiding in your photo library.

Apple is reportedly integrating Apple Intelligence far more in iOS 27
The rumored feature appears to be part of Apple’s much larger AI push coming with iOS 27.
Reports claim Apple wants Apple Intelligence features to feel more natural and be built directly into everyday iPhone use rather than hidden away inside menus people rarely open.
Instead of asking users to create their own custom emoji manually, Apple may simply start placing AI-generated suggestions directly in front of them while texting.

Thankfully, the feature is expected to remain optional, meaning users uncomfortable with Apple analyzing their messages or photos would reportedly be able to disable it entirely.
Apple is expected to officially reveal iOS 27 during WWDC 2026 on June 8.
And if the company really can make AI emoji feel effortless, Genmoji might finally become something people use for more than five minutes before forgetting about it forever.
