iPhone buyers could be in line for a payout after Apple agreed to fork out a huge $250,000,000 to settle a major lawsuit.

The case centres around claims that the tech giant oversold some of its headline-grabbing AI features.

Now, millions of iPhone users in the US could receive cash compensation as part of the deal.

And there’s a very specific way to check if you’re eligible and claim your share.

Why Apple is paying $250,000,000 to iPhone buyers

The unprecedented tech lawsuit focused on Apple’s rollout of its so-called ‘Apple Intelligence’ features, particularly upgrades to its voice assistant, Siri.

Customers claimed the company advertised advanced AI capabilities that simply weren’t ready when the phones launched.

The BBC reports that lawyers alleged that some of the features were delayed or missing entirely.

The settlement covers people in the United States who bought certain devices, including iPhone 16 models and iPhone 15 Pro variants, between June 2024 and March 2025.

While Apple hasn’t admitted wrongdoing, it has agreed to the massive payout to bring the case to a close.

Eligible users could receive at least $25 per device, with some payouts potentially rising to as much as $95 depending on how many people file claims.

How can I claim my share?

If you’re eligible, you won’t need to go digging too far to get your money.

According to reports, affected customers will be contacted directly, either by email or post, with instructions on how to submit a claim.

There will also be a dedicated settlement website where users can register and provide details about their device purchase.

This payout is currently limited to US customers, meaning buyers outside the States likely won’t qualify this time around.

The final amount each person receives will depend on how many valid claims are submitted, so the more people who apply, the smaller each payout could be.

Still, for many iPhone owners, it’s a rare chance to get some cash back on a device.
