People are already getting to use iOS 27 through its beta and this is everything that's in it so far

The next major iPhone software update, iOS 27, is still months away, but early testers are already digging into Apple’s latest features with its beta testing platform.

Apple has already handed eager users an early glimpse of iOS 27, with the latest developer beta revealing a host of new features before the software officially lands later this year.

While beta versions are always subject to change, the newest release gives us a good idea of what iPhone owners can expect, from smarter AI tools to handy upgrades for Messages and CarPlay.

The second developer beta builds on everything Apple showed off at WWDC, adding even more features and polishing some of the biggest changes.

Write with Siri

One of the biggest additions is ‘Write with Siri’, which lets Apple’s AI rewrite, summarize, or generate text almost anywhere you can type.

It’s designed to make replying to emails, writing notes, or drafting messages much quicker.

Apple has also expanded Siri’s customization options, giving users more control over how the assistant sounds and behaves.

New message features

The Messages app has picked up several long-awaited improvements too.

iPhone users can now reply directly to RCS messages from Android phones, bringing one of iMessage’s most useful features to cross-platform conversations.

Group chats have also gained typing indicators, making them feel much more like iMessage threads.

Wallet updates

Meanwhile, the Wallet app has received new visual customization options when creating digital passes, while Apple’s Home app now lets users remotely update their Apple TV without needing to turn it on first.

Camera Controls

The beta also includes a collection of smaller improvements that should make everyday use feel smoother.

Camera controls now highlight when hidden settings, such as exposure adjustments, are active, making them much easier to spot.

Apple has also introduced new Visual Intelligence settings, giving users greater control over when images are shared with third-party services for AI-powered searches.

iCloud backup

Behind the scenes, there are also improvements to iCloud backup notifications, helping alert users if backups fail because of server issues.

As with every developer beta, some features may change or disappear before the final version of iOS 27 rolls out later this year.

For now, though, these early builds are giving Apple fans plenty to get excited about as the company continues refining its biggest iPhone software update yet.
